It helps readers discover listed and privately held Japanese businesses—including yūgen kaisha—by explaining what they make, where they sit in a supply chain, why their technology matters and what remains uncertain. Stock information provides company context; the project does not tell readers what to buy or sell.
WHY IT EXISTS
Useful evidence is often fragmented by language and institution.
Company filings, product documents, local-government material, research-facility records and Japanese reporting can describe different parts of the same industrial story. The project connects those sources without claiming access or interviews that did not occur.
HOW COMPANIES ARE SELECTED
Industrial relevance comes before familiarity.
Coverage prioritizes B2B companies, enabling technologies, regional clusters, difficult-to-replace components and businesses whose role in global supply chains is larger than their international name recognition.
PRIVATE COMPANY NOTES
Industrial relevance does not require a ticker.
We profile unlisted businesses when their products, customer relationships, craftsmanship or supply-chain role help explain a market. These notes are industry research: they clearly state that the company is not publicly traded and do not imply that its shares are available to ordinary investors.

Use the legal form accurately.
Companies formed under the former Limited Company Act may continue under Japan's transition rules as tokurei yūgen kaisha. We retain the verified Japanese trade name, explain the status in plain English and avoid inventing unavailable financial data. Primary legal source: e-Gov.
